Microplastics Laboratory Study
On June 10–11, 2025, Izolda Matchutadze, Irine Baramitze, and Marina Shainidze from Shota Rustaveli University in Batumi, Georgia visited our university to collaborate on developing a joint methodology for microplastic research.
Together with Prof. Dr. Nigar Alkan, the Georgian delegation, led by Izolda Matchutadze, engaged in intensive work at the Microplastics Laboratory. Afterward, they stated that the visit was highly productive and successful before returning to their country.
Additionally, Fatima Bakayoko, a Gambian citizen conducting her thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kadir Seyhan at the Department of Marine Sciences and Marine Biotechnology, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Karadeniz Technical University, gave a seminar titled "Marine Microplastics Pollution and Its Effects on Animals and Humans.
