BlackNETs Project Education and Awareness Activity for Students
As part of the BlackNETs "Exorcising the Black Sea's Silent Killers" Project, an educational workshop was organized to engage secondary school students with the vital topic of marine conservation. The event aimed to increase awareness about the importance of healthy marine ecosystems and the growing threat of marine pollution—especially ghost nets, which silently trap and kill marine life. Through interactive presentations, students explored the balance of marine ecosystems, the role of biodiversity, and the long-term impacts of litter on the Black Sea. Practical activities included demonstrations on how ghost nets entangle marine organisms, creative reuse of discarded nets, and hands-on lessons in tying maritime knots—turning learning into a fun and memorable experience.
