T3N BSB Portal Launched: A New Era for Technology Transfer in the Black Sea Basin

As of July 2025, the innovative digital platform T3N BSB Portal—developed within the scope of the "Transnational Technology Transfer Network for the Black Sea Basin (T3N-BSB)" project and supported by the INTERREG NEXT Black Sea Basin Program—has been officially launched.

The project is led by the Karadeniz Technical University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (KTU TTC), in partnership with the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) from Greece, the Bulgarian Association for Transfer of Technology and Innovation (BATTI) from Bulgaria, and the Dunarea de Jos University of Galati (UDJG) from Romania.

The Portal provides a dedicated virtual environment specifically designed for

  • Academicians,
  • Students,
  • Entrepreneurs,
  • Industrialists,
  • Umbrella Organizations

involved in technology transfer.

The T3N BSB Portal enables users to create comprehensive, customized profiles based on their selected user type whether they are academicians, students, entrepreneurs, industrialists or umbrella organisations. Each user can easily add and showcase a wide range of information, including their academic publications, projects, intellectual property assets, research and activity fields, educational background, awards, personal networks, communication accounts and product portfolios. This functionality significantly enhances their visibility and accelerates access to the right collaboration opportunities between researchers and business world.

The platform also includes real-time chat and video meeting features, allowing stakeholders across the Black Sea basin to communicate and coordinate effectively. Users can schedule and conduct meetings directly on the Portal, generating dedicated online meeting links to streamline interactions both at national and international level.

Additionally, the Portal publishes up-to-date funding programmes, calls and event announcements open to international participation and application, making it easier for participants to stay informed about relevant prospects. All announcements are integrated with an automatically synchronized calendar within the platform, enabling seamless scheduling.

And most importantly “Opportunities” section empowers all participant groups to create and respond to expressions of interest under categories such as

  • Consortium Search: Within the scope of consortium search, individuals and institutions can either seek partners for their project proposals or request to join an existing consortium as a partner.
  • R&D Demand: In the R&D Demand section, users can share their research and development needs and search for potential collaborators to address those needs.
  • Investment Requests: In the Investment Request section, users can announce their investment needs and/or requests and connect with potential investors interested in supporting innovative ideas or projects.
  • Networking Activities: Users can connect, communicate, and collaborate with others through various networking activities such as interdisciplinary and sectoral collaborations, mentoring and consulting, internationalization and mobility, technology transfer activities, community building and communication, joint publication, academic study.

  • This interactive environment of T3N BSB Portal fosters flexible collaboration by allowing users to either initiate or join interest expressions created by others.
  • Designed to boost cooperation among countries in the Black Sea Basin, the T3N BSB Portal aims to facilitate faster technology transfer processes and strengthen innovation ecosystems
  • The T3N BSB Portal is open to participants from all sectors and fields of expertise, encouraging broad engagement across the entire innovation and technology transfer landscape. While participation is not limited to specific thematic areas, particular emphasis is placed on domains prioritized by the INTERREG NEXT program—such as the blue economy, low-carbon economy, resilience, and adaptation to climate change—where enhanced cooperation can have a transformative impact on the Black Sea region.
  • Enhancing university-industry collaboration and facilitating the commercialization of academic knowledge are also among the Portal’s primary goals.
  • Users registering on the T3N BSB Portal are required to select their country of origin, currently limited to Türkiye, Bulgaria, Romania, andGreece, reflecting the project partner countries. While the platform initially serves these countries, in the short term it will be available for all target groups from other countries in Black Sea Basin. In the long term it will expand access to users worldwide.
  • All services provided through the Portal are completely free of charge.

The T3N BSB Portal is now accessible at https://portal.t3nbsb.net/. All stakeholders interested in contributing to the development of the technology transfer and innovation ecosystem in the Black Sea region are encouraged to register, create profiles, and actively participate in collaboration opportunities on the platform.
