The process of joining the EURAXESS Network as a Service Centre has been successfully completed
As a result of the efforts carried out by the Directorate of International Relations at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), the process of joining the EURAXESS Network which promotes researcher mobility across Europe as a Service Centre has been successfully completed.
In January 2000, the European Union (EU) Commission (COM) decided to launch the initiative called the European Research Area (ERA) with the aim of unifying research policies across Europe into a comprehensive framework. This initiative forms the foundation of the EU’s future research activities. Within this framework, the EU has set three main objectives:
Recognition of research as a profession,
Creation of an attractive, accessible, and sustainable European labor market for researchers,
Ensuring the free movement of knowledge, referred to as the "Fifth Freedom."
The fundamental goal aligned with these objectives is to enable researchers to move freely across Europe. In this context, EURAXESS is a structure that supports the principle of "Free Movement of Researchers," one of the EU’s key strategies.
EURAXESS is a unique pan-European program that provides comprehensive information and support services to researchers who wish to pursue their research careers in Europe or maintain their connection to Europe.
